Sussex ARES held a countywide hospital drill on Saturday, August 26, 2023. This drill was held from 0900-1200 with all three Beebe Facilities being staffed along with the TidalHealth Nanticoke and the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center. Once all drill data is in KC3DSO will compile the data for an AAR/IP. The next Sussex ARES Meeting time will be dedicated to discuss the results and improvements for future drills. The Beebe Coordinator wants to thank all of the HERO's (Hospital Emergency Radio Operators) who took time out of their Saturday to help support the hospital system and Sussex Co. ARES. Susses County ARES will be activating the Beebe Hospitals again on October 14, 2023 to participate in the SET being held by the New Castle County ARES. The drill plan is still in the works but the Beebe Coordinator is requesting all team members pencil in the date. The plan is expected to be available sometime after Labor Day. Plan for another day of working the WinLink System using VHF/UHF/HF Gateways and P2P via both VHF & HF.
WinLink "ShakeOut 2023" announced. The WinLink Development Team (WDT) continues it's successful collaboration with the U.S. Geological Survey to provide real event and exercise "Did you feel it" (DYFI) earthquake intensity reports via the WinLink System. All WinLink users are invited to send Exercise WinLink DYFI Reports on October 19, 2023 at or after 10:19 local time. Sussex County ARES encourages participation in this exercise as it exercises both RMS Express templates and the use of the WinLink Global Email over Radio System.
