Sussex County ARES runs a minimum of 4 drills per year. Every 90 days our ARES volunteers participate in testing the amateur radio infrastructure within Sussex County to ensure reliable communications. ARES uses a combination of voice communications on all bands including HF, but also uses the WinLink Global Email over Radio System to provide data communications for our served agencies. Sussex County ARES 4Q Drill for 2026 will be the SET - October 24, 2026

Sussex County ARES will be participating in the Delaware Section's Simulated Emergency Test on October 24, 2026. The SET will be counted as the Sussex ARES 4Q Hospital Drill. SET Planning is underway. Mark your calendars now for this statewide event. The hours will be 0830-1400 and all stations are anticipated in being up and online.

Sussex County ARES Drills for 2027

1Q Drill will be Saturday, January 9, 2027. All stations to be activated. 0830-1400 hrs.

2Q Drill will be Saturday, April 10, 2027. All stations to be activated. 0830-1400 hrs.

3Q Drill will be Saturday, July 10, 2027. All stations to be activated. 0830-1400 hrs.

4Q Drill date will be announced when the 2027 date for the Delaware Section's SET Participation is announced.
